Public Safety Broadband

Allocation of 700 MHz spectrum for Public Safety Broadband is an important issue for all Canadians. As citizens we expect to have broadband wireless everywhere we go, and we expect First Responders to have  the tools they need to protect us when we are in trouble. Establishing sufficient spectrum allocation is the first step in ensuring the development of broadband tools for first responders and ensuring they have sufficient bandwidth when needed. Using 700 MHz will allow the vendors to leverage commercial equipment R&D, while tailoring hardware and software to meet the needs of Public Safety users.
