Security requirements and
solutions are evolving at a rapid pace. Video
surveillance no longer means fixed cameras with
low image quality. High definition can provide
great image quality, while video recorders are now
mobile in Public Safety vehicles and in Transit
systems.
These new capabilities
introduce new challenges with privacy, data
storage and network capacity. As the technology
and user skills grow, central facilities and
SOPs must grow with them, along with training and
practice.
Access control has also evolved significantly with wireless door controls and IP card readers. While wireless may make implementation easier, it is important to assess the security and support of any wireless solutions. |
